Workday Student 101

A student’s academic record lists two load values, Institutional Load and FA Load.

Academic periods are segments of an academic year, which together make up an academic calendar.

In Workday, you can see how academic requirements apply to academic progress.  

An academic record is a collection of a student’s academic information, such as their GPA, course registrations and academic history.

Academic units represent schools, divisions, or any other unit that admits students, offers programs of study, or offers courses. 

Programs of study are used to organize academic functions (such as course requirements), people (such as faculty or students) and/or credentials (such as degrees or certificates).

Student mailing addresses are a subset of Contact Information in Workday and are categorized by Address Type (Home, Institutional, and Work) and supplemented with additional Usage Type information, if needed.
